I have a disability
If you have a disability and wish to pursue higher education, there are special measures to help you in your academic career. Specifically, if you have a disability, learning difficulty or disabling illness that may make it difficult for you to participate in academic life, you can apply to the support service at your higher education institution.
This service will examine your individual situation and propose a personalised support plan with reasonable adjustments. These are specific measures designed to help you access, participate and progress in your studies. They must not represent a disproportionate burden for the school. The measures in question may include the provision of lecture notes, sound amplifiers, edocuments with large print, a rest room, the organisation of classes in an accessible room, access to a parking space, etc.
These provisions are governed by article 151 of the so-called "Paysage" decree and by the decree of 30 January 2014 on inclusive higher education.
For more information on how to make a request and on the procedures, you can consult the website of your higher education institution. If you are turned down, you can appeal to the Commission for Inclusive Higher Education (CESI) to have your application reviewed.
If you want to find out more about support services and how they can help you, we recommend you watch the videos below. These videos will show you
- how to apply for recognition of student beneficiary status,
- what an individualised support plan is and how reasonable adjustments that meet your needs can be put in place,

Don't hesitate to visit your institution's website to find a contact person who can provide you with information specific to your situation.
Videos have also been produced to showcase the academic careers of students with disabilities who, thanks to the support available, are successfully completing their studies.
