After Block 1, what will my course programme be?
The rules are simple: your annual programme will consist of 60 credits (except at the end of the cycle) and you will continue your academic career until all the course units in the cycle programme have been validated.
It is important to note that your annual programme must be approved by the jury. The jury will check that the annual programme is balanced and that the prerequisites and corequisites have been met. In exceptional cases, and only at the end of the cycle, the jury may decide to transform certain prerequisites into corequisites, based on the student's background.
As a general rule, an annual programme must contain at least 60 credits, except in the following cases:
- at the end of the cycle: you may also ask to balance the credits you have yet to acquire over several years. At the end of the cycle, the jury may convert prerequisites into corequisites.
- in the event of a reduced programme.
However, there are other situations in which your programme may comprise fewer than 60 credits:
- in the case of co-organisation or student mobility,
- when it would be necessary to add teaching units to reach the minimum of 60 credits, but you have not yet acquired the necessary prerequisites,
- for justified pedagogical or organisational reasons, provided that your programme comprises at least 55 credits,
- at your request, in order to balance the number of credits still to be acquired,
- in the field of higher arts education, when in order to reach the minimum of 60 credits, it would be necessary to add a teaching unit from the arts courses category, but you have not yet acquired the prerequisites or the organisational conditions cannot be met1.
At the end of the cycle, when you have acquired the minimum number of credits required, the jury will award you the appropriate academic degree, possibly with honours2.
Good to know: each institution's study regulations may contain specific provisions concerning the evaluation of certain learning activities within course units.

2.Article 132, § 1, para. 2 of the "Landscape" decree.
The following process indicates the rules for composing the student's annual programme (SAP), when you are authorised to continue your studies (bachelor and master) :
When the SAP is made up of course units that have not yet been validated1 and course units from the rest of the programme, it is subject to the approval of the jury. The SAP is made up of a minimum of 60 credits (except at the end of the cycle or in the event of a reduced programme) and must comply with the pre-requisites and corequisites (a pre-requisite can only be converted into a corequisite at the end of the cycle). In certain cases, the SAP may comprise fewer than 60 credits:
- in the case of co-organisation or student mobility ;
- if prerequisites are not met ;
- for pedagogical or organisational reasons (min 55 credits);
- arts courses category ;
- at the student's request (balance the credits).
