How are exams and assessments organised?
Your knowledge is tested at the end of each term. You may take at least two evaluations for each course unit during the same academic year.
If you are in your first year of study, here's how it works for you:
- there is automatically an examination session in January,
- January exams are no longer compulsory,
- January exams for which you have not achieved the pass threshold may be resubmitted during the other 2 examination periods,
- in addition, before 15 February, you may reduce your programme of activities for the second term in agreement with the jury1.
Good to know: in certain cases, the learning activities may require a single evaluation, and sometimes there may be evaluations throughout the term (for example, ongoing evaluations).
All the rules concerning evaluations and the operation of the examination boards are included in the study and examination regulations sent to students.
Work and study higher education
If you are following a work and study programme, a subject may be evaluated as soon as it has been completed.
Procedure to provide exam papers
There is an agreement in force since January 2019 that sets out the procedure to provide exam papers. You can consult this document, which explains in detail how it works.
