What are the possible scenarios at the end of the first year of study?
Finishing your first year of study? Here are five possible scenarios for the rest of your studies:
- Successful completion with 60 credits validated or recognised by the jury: if you have successfully completed the first 60 credits of the annual programme, you have passed. You can then register for the following year's course units, with a minimum of 60 credits (except at the end of the cycle or in the event of a reduced programme).
- Failing with 55 to 59 credits validated or recognised by the jury: if you have obtained between 55 and 59 of the first 60 credits in the annual programme, you have failed. However, you can complete your programme with credits from the rest of the cycle. Your programme will automatically count 60 credits, but it may comprise up to a maximum of 65 credits, subject to approval by the jury.
- Failing with 45 to 54 credits validated or valued by the jury: if you have obtained between 45 and 54 of the first 60 credits in the annual programme, you have failed. However, you can complete your programme with credits from the rest of the cycle. Your programme may comprise a maximum of 60 credits.
- Failing with 30 to 44 credits validated or recognised by the jury: if you have obtained between 30 and 44 of the first 60 credits in the annual programme, you have failed. However, you may complete your programme with credits from the rest of the cycle, subject to approval by the jury. Your programme may comprise a maximum of 60 credits, and you also have the option of enrolling in activities to help you succeed.
- Failing with 0 to 29 credits validated or valuedby the jury: finally, if you have obtained between 0 and 29 of the first 60 credits of the annual programme by the jury, you have failed. You do not have access to the teaching units for the rest of the cycle and you must enrol in activities to help you succeed1.

Help for success is available!
If you have acquired fewer than 30 credits at the end of your first year, you will remain enrolled in block 1. You will have to complete your enrolment by taking remedial activities from the 2023-2024 academic year. A helping hand to give you every chance of success! Help is of course already available this year for all students. Don't hesitate to contact your school.
