Where to study?
The Wallonia-Brussels Federation has more than 120 recognised higher education establishments that offer some 220,000 students high-quality training, appropriate and varied services, as well as opportunities to carry out all or part of their studies abroad.
Only studies organised by institutions subsidised by the Wallonia-Brussels Federation are recognised and lead to a diploma that can be used.
These institutions fulfil three missions: teaching, research and community service.
Higher education is organised by four types of institution:
- universities,
- university colleges,
- arts colleges,
- adult education institutions.
These institutions are grouped geographically into five academic hubs around one or more universities. The mission of these hubs is to promote collaboration and develop joint or cross-disciplinary activities between the institutions, particularly in the areas of mobility, guidance, student services and support.
