Universities
The universities of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation are institutions with a reputation for excellence both in Belgium and abroad. They provide high-level training, with a close link between fundamental or applied scientific research and the subjects taught.
They are multicultural, friendly microcosms where teaching takes place in both French and English, and they are attentive to student life and offer a full range of services and facilities.
What courses can you study at university?
Universities offer long degree programmes in 21 different fields, consisting of two cycles:
- a first cycle, leading to the degree of bachelor (known as the transition cycle),
- a second cycle, leading to a Master's degree.
These two cycles may be followed by a third, i.e. a doctorate.
