The study period
The study session is an intense period that demands concentration, rigour and tenacity. Here are a few tips on how to make the most of this exam preparation time, as well as the places to study available in the Wallonia-Brussels Federation (FWB)!
Here is a non-exhaustive list of tips to help you prepare for your exam session:
- Keep your courses up to date: for optimum study, there's nothing more important than up-to-date courses! Before starting your study, take the time to check that your lessons are in order and to summarise them if necessary. This essential step saves a lot of time during the study session.
- Draw up a study schedule: another important step in preparing for the blockade is to draw up a schedule with (realistic) objectives. This will help you to spread your workload over time, give structure to your study and make the most of your time! It should be noted that study planning is a personal matter, as everyone has a different method and pace of work.
- Study in the right environment: whether you're in the library, your bedroom or your grandparents' house, the most important thing is to create a calm working environment that encourages concentration.
- Keep distractions at bay: as well as a good working environment, it's also important to keep electronic distractions at bay. When you're studying, remember to switch off or mute your mobile phone so that you're not distracted by the various notifications you might receive. Disconnecting from the networks will help you study more effectively.
- Adopt a healthy lifestyle: eating healthily and at regular times, drinking enough water, doing sport and getting enough sleep are all ways of recharging your batteries and staying in shape during study time.
- Take breaks: be careful, revision doesn't mean non-stop study! It's important to take breaks to switch off, get some fresh air and take some time for yourself. Rewarding yourself after a productive day's study is also important and boosts motivation.
- Never give up: the best advice is to keep your courage up and keep studying despite the difficulties.
